Table Time
Every Table Time begins with a theme.
Sometimes it's inspired by a favorite storybook.
Sometimes it's a true story from real life.
Sometimes it's simply something wonderful we've noticed together.
As we gather around the table, students enjoy warm conversation, learn new vocabulary,
share ideas, ask questions, and write reflections in their
PGH English Explorer Journals.
Together we prepare for our upcoming exploration while building confidence to communicate in English at each
real-life exploration site.
Each gathering grows with the interests, questions, and observations of the students,
making every Table Time joyful and engaging.
But something even deeper is happening.
Many years ago, one simple library book quietly planted a seed in Miss Alisa's heart.
Page after page it invited her to slow down, notice ordinary things, and see the wonder all around her.
That little seed continued growing through a lifetime of teaching, exploring, and meeting people from
around the world.
Today, every Table Time carries that same invitation.
Not simply to learn English ...
...but to look with wonder at that which is before you.
Because language, and life, becomes richer when it is connected to curiosity.
Friendships grow stronger when people share what they notice.
And sometimes, the smallest moments become the ones we remember for the rest of our lives.
